Sending txt msgs (Text Messages) is an art. With the length of a text message limited to just 160 characters you have to make sure that you can fit all you need to in each one, so there are a few tips and tricks you can use to make sure you get as much as you want into each message. Basics

2 = to/two
4 = for/four
B = be
C = see
R = are
U = You

So B4 would stand for Before
and CU stands for See You

More advanced

M8 = Mate
L8 = Late
L8R = Later
GR8 = Great

So on what we have learnt so far...
CU L8R M8 stand for See You Later Mate
CU L8R M8 total 9 characters (including spaces)
See You Later Mate 18 characters (including spaces)

Meaning you have used up half the space by abreviating!!!
